Slumpy Tube I  (2019)
Blown glass, oak with mineral oil and wax
Robert C Beck and Sarah Max Beck
12 x 8 x 16 inches

Bioreactors are designed with extremely tight tolerances and built for very specific applications. This reaction chamber was designed with experimental form and biology in mind. The tube was allowed to react to its supporting stand by using gravity to help shape the glass in its soft and molten state. In the absence of its counterparts and biological stirrings, this virgin chamber has yet to blow its maximum load.
